NJP Logistics Fuel Surcharge Policy

1. Introduction

NJP Logistics Ltd is committed to providing transparent, fair, and competitive pricing to all customers.

As fuel remains one of the most significant operating costs within the transport industry, fluctuations in diesel prices can have a direct impact on the cost of providing transport services. This Fuel Surcharge Policy establishes a clear and consistent method for recovering fuel cost increases while ensuring customers have full visibility of how fuel surcharge rates are calculated and applied.

The Fuel Surcharge is linked directly to the UK Government Weekly Road Fuel Price statistics and is applied in accordance with the Fuel Surcharge Tariff Policy.

2. Fuel Surcharge Tariff

The Fuel Surcharge is calculated using the national average diesel price (pence per litre) published by the UK Government within its Weekly Road Fuel Price Report. The applicable surcharge percentage is determined by the NJP Logistics Fuel Surcharge Tariff.

The UK Government published diesel price is used as an independent and publicly available index for determining the applicable Fuel Surcharge percentage. The published fuel price is used solely as a reference point for the tariff and is not intended to represent the net fuel cost incurred by NJP Logistics Ltd. The Fuel Surcharge is designed to recover fluctuations in operating costs associated with fuel price movements rather than directly reimburse the cost of fuel purchased.

The full Fuel Surcharge Tariff is available on the NJP Logistics Ltd website and may be amended periodically to reflect changes in market conditions.

3. Weekly Review Process

Fuel surcharge rates are reviewed weekly using the UK Government Weekly Road Fuel Price statistics. The diesel price published by the UK Government each week will determine the fuel surcharge applicable to invoicing in the subsequent operational week.

To allow sufficient time for administration and customer communication, a one-week implementation period is applied between publication of the fuel price and the invoicing week to which it relates.

Examples

The applicable surcharge percentage will be determined by the diesel price published on the relevant reporting date and applied in accordance with the NJP Logistics Fuel Surcharge Tariff.

4. Application of the Fuel Surcharge

The applicable Fuel Surcharge percentage will be applied to the transport charges shown on the customer's invoice.

The Fuel Surcharge will be displayed as a separate line item on invoices to ensure complete transparency and visibility of fuel-related costs.

The Fuel Surcharge applies to all relevant transport services unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Exceptional Market Conditions

While the Fuel Surcharge Tariff is designed to accommodate normal market fluctuations, NJP Logistics Ltd reserves the right to review and amend the tariff structure in the event of exceptional fuel market volatility or significant changes in operating conditions.

Should any material changes be made to the tariff structure, affected customers will be advised as soon as reasonably practicable.

6. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains fair, relevant, and aligned with prevailing fuel market conditions and the operational requirements of NJP Logistics Ltd.

The latest version of this policy and the current Fuel Surcharge Tariff will be available on the NJP Logistics Ltd website.

Statement of Intent

The Fuel Surcharge is designed solely to recover fluctuations in fuel costs and ensure the continued delivery of reliable transport services. It is not intended to generate additional profit but to provide a fair, transparent, and consistent mechanism for managing changes in diesel prices for the benefit of both NJP Logistics Ltd and its customers. The tariff is linked to an independently published fuel index to provide a transparent and consistent mechanism for calculating fuel surcharges.
